Lake Norman Volunteer Fire and Rescue
This morning shortly after 4:00 am Lake Norman, Mooresville, Mount Mourne , and Shepherds Fire Departments responded to Shoreline Loop for a reported structure fire. Lake Norman units arrived and found a residence fully involved and requested a second alarm. The fire was quickly knocked down by the initial units. During firefighting operations a deceased victim was located inside the house. The Iredell County Fire Marshal’s Office, Sheriff’s Department and SBI were called in for investigation. As of 12:30 the investigation was closed. The cause of the fire was determined to be a malfunction with the HVAC unit under the house. The name of the deceased has not been released at this time.
